Bio

Hello There!

Welcome to Zivasound:  my name is Co de Kloet.

I am a Dutch music producer, composer, musician, writer, creative consultant and radio/music/audiobook-presenter.

My professional nickname is “Creative Catalyst”.

Born in 1959 and raised in Kortenhoef, Holland. Pretty normal childhood.

I studied at the Hilversum Conservatory (MPA) and graduated with main instruments recorder (hence my deep love for Baroque music) and classical saxophone, along with thorough training in electronic music at CEM.

Since 1991 I have been working for public radio and television, NOS (then NPS, now NTR) in a lot of different capacities with a focus on music, radiofonics, soundscapes and documentaries.

With my musical associate Menno Kalmann, I have produced numerous cd’s, and we still provide musical concepts for various partners.

I have a great love for all kinds of music.

I developed and produced projects with Todd Rundgren, Frank Zappa, Dweezil Zappa, Brian Eno, Steve Vai (2 Grammy nominations), George Duke, Mike Keneally, Gary Lucas, Michiel Borstlap, Mike Boddé, Gregory Porter, Terry Bozzio, Laurie Anderson and many others. My production “Kinky Op 4” won the Prix Italia. (audio available soon, it is about a classical radio station going commercial).

These days I run my own cottage industry called ZIVASOUND full time.

One of the main activities is a multi-platform show I produce in cooperation with Buma Cultuur called: “injazz”. With national coverage for the weekly Dutch version and a monthly English edition for listeners in Great Britain and the U.S., injazz has become the main platform for well-known names as well as new talent. More information can be found at www.injazzradio.nl

I live in Kortenhoef with my beautiful wife and my beautiful children.

I am a Pescotarian and foremost, an Orbeccian. (thanks to Herb Cohen)

I have two hobbies: I like to cook, and I study a little Hebrew.

For more info just take a little trip through these pages which will be updated all the time.

Enjoy!
